Long before the Nintendo DSi was launched in 2009, Nintendo had plans for a bigger, nicer screen view dual game machine. With more and more retirees purchase of your brain training software had to do something to maintain this momentum.
DS Screens were difficult to see
One of the main complaints of the older players was that the DS screens were too small and difficult to see from different angle, that is. when looking over someone's shoulder. Clearly we needed a device that was bigger, brighter screens.
Prototype DS Lite XL
After designing the DS Lite, Nintendo went to work on a DS Lite XL with larger screens. Even as production reached a working prototype, but this design did not see the light of day. The problem was that at that time, the display technology was expensive. Larger screens have made the new device also expensive for the mass market. Adding a wide viewing angle display that have pushed the price even more.
2007 was also a time of shortage of stocks for Nintendo, with both the DS and Wii in the console. The addition of another product to its range at that time would not have been good for their manufacturing plants.
Other improvements
As well as increasing screen size, lower costs of the technology that allows Nintendo in the last setting wide viewing angle LCD had wanted to go in 2007. The largest event enabled Nintendo to add more buttons and more the size of the speaker boxes. Increasing the size of the speaker boxes was the result of producing a greater volume of the speakers DSi.
Appointment The DSi XL
Nintendo took on behalf of the new handheld game machine. They had to come up with a name that worked in Japan and around the world. This was a little difficult and at the end after looking at several different names, like – Comfort DSi and DSi life, decided to use a name clothing. English size largest known as LL XL and Japans. So even though they still had two names, which now had a solution that worked for most regions.
