The Wiimote, motion sensors and sound / vibration feedback in a small, lightweight unit is a technical marvel. But there are still millions of players who, quite rightly, want touch and control provided by the device more traditional style. Nintendo responded to that need with the Classic Controller.

It contains many features Standard: clearly marked A and B buttons, a four-way directional pad, two analog joysticks, four buttons and four shoulder buttons. Each game Load describes how to use all the buttons and controls, so there's never any problem adjusting to each other. The minor drawback, probably should not be labeled as such, anyway: Classic Controller plugs in the Wiimote, which gives you power. However, if you have to connect to something, the connection to the Wiimote can easily be seen as an advantage. It gives more flexibility and the distance if connected to the console. It also means that the Classic does not require its own batteries, reducing the cost and weight and increased convenience.

For those who want the ultimate in gaming legacy of style, Hori has released a version of the classic controller which goes by the same name. It offers numerous controls and design is excellent.
