PS3 Consoles – Versatile, Personalization
The PS3 console is in the midst of its third year on the market. He had a rocky launch and has suffered various forms of bad press since then. It was expensive, the initial list of games was very inspiring, and people seemed to not want them.
I bought mine (a 60gb launch model) in mid-2007, by the original launch price. About a month later, Sony lowered the price. D'oh! Then, models, Sony discontinued the 60 and 20 GB and put out a list of several other new – 80GB, 120GB, PS2 compatibility, without, etc etc. Eventually, the price dropped to (see above) for the base model, and more for larger units hard drive and games package.
Here's the thing – are all worth the price. I'm glad mine, even on the original prices. Anyone who gets one today in the registration fee will be getting a great value for money. If Sony lowers the price again this year, the value will be even sweeter.
So What am I talking about? Well, here is a picture of using my PS3 arrives in a typical week:
I can play games - lately, I've been playing Fallout 3, Singstar, MLB'09: Show Him, and a downloadable game called Wipeout HD. People who say the PS3 is lacking games are smoking, some extravagant tobackey. PS3 gets the same games that the Xbox 360 platform, and each system has its own exclusive titles. I can see film – every model of PS3 consoles, regardless of price point, plays, films on Blu Ray. If I do not know, Blu-Ray format record high-definition DVD is successful. Blu-Ray are sold on Amazon as DVD movies, and they look better, sound better and have more extras. PS3 plays DVD movies very well, too – is compatible with earlier versions. Netflix rents Blu-Ray movies through the mail, too. The Playstation Network has a video download service as well – you can buy or rent movies and TV shows and download them onto your PS3 hard drive to watch anytime.
I can watch TV - something that not everyone knows is that the PS3 is capable a "Media Center". Personally, I think seeing TV or movies on a computer screen is lame. I have a 50 "HDTV 1080p – I want to see the contents of my in it! Well, with a little research and elbow grease, you can use the PS3 to stream Netflix, Hulu, and more. I use a program called Playón 3rd part – all this content streams from my PC to the PS3 consoles, so you can play on my good television. Is it the best solution? No, Sony should offer its own solution for this first game. But from now on buy a cheap piece of software and use it to listen to all works great.
I can listen to music - is an easy matter to synchronize their PS3 with your music collection on a PC. PS3 has a built in media player that plays music with a video screen saver. I can surf all folders in my iTunes library and make playlists. If I feel particularly adventurous, I can turn my PS3 with my PSP handheld system and use it as a remote control, without even turning on the TV.
That's a typical week in the life of my PS3. In essence, the PS3 is my entertainment center home, especially when it comes to video. For all of this capacity, the price was not bad at all. Amazon currently offers deals with free drivers and similar so the value is even better.
I will not spend much time taking about the Xbox 360 or Wii. But I will say this – to get the Xbox 360 to the same capacity as PS3 consoles out of the box, you have to spend money on an antenna Wi-Fi (PS3 consoles have built in), an annual subscription to Xbox Live (PS3 Consoles allows you to play games online for free), and if you want to upgrade your hard disk drive, pay outrageous prices Microsoft-owned (PS3 Console allows you to use any portable hard drive – 320 GB added very cheap to extract).
The 360 will not play high definition discs (which used to have a HD-DVD add- on the disc, but Blu-Ray won the format war "between them). The Wii, however, does not transmit high definition signals at all, it really is not as comparable as the 360 for the PS3. The 360 is a very good. It has good games. Microsoft sold 360 systems for less than the PS3 – but these systems hard drive, Wireless not basically the same cost to reach the same level of performance and versatility.
So the PS3 has a lot going for it. Here's how I would summarize the strengths of the PS3 consoles' s.

U.S. is slowly but surely moving to high definition as standard. Perfectly decent 1080p HDTV is already has been available for reasonable prices. There really is no better moment than now to jump on board and get the perfect companion for your HDTV, a PS3 console. I have not regretted my purchase, even in the original launch price, once in the last two years.
If you like video games, consoles PS3 is a great buy. If you love movies, PS3 can''t be beat. If you want to live in a more "digital home," PS3 is a robust solution for streaming audio and video from your PC. About the reasons that only I can see for not getting one if you're into games, do not like movies, or do not have an HDTV.

"As for the PS3 Blu-Ray remote. It is a remote control that uses Bluetooth fine, and it's cheap at Amazon.
"As for Playon of streaming media. You can try it for two weeks for free to see if you like. I recommend using a wired network for transmission Wireless seems to drop more.
"You need to buy an HDMI cable for best video of the PS3 console to the TV. Do not pass "Monster" The prices though! Cheaper cable gets the signal to your TV as a more expensive. digital cables are all or nothing.
-Subscribe to Netflix! Even if you do not use the streaming video, this is a great way to try out a lot of Blu-Ray. If you like nature, check out "Planet Earth". If you like action, "The Dark Knight" is amazing in HD.
"Some great games are available very cheaply at Amazon or PSN. If you like fantasy role-playing games, try "Oblivion Game of the Year Edition." If you like the car, trying to "Burnout Paradise." futuristic racing? Download "Wipeout HD". For hardcore FPS action to "Unreal Tournament 3" a shift. If you like the classics shooter-style space, download Super Stardust HD. " Most of these games can be had for much less than their original price – and these are serious "following generation "of games with great graphics, online multiplayer mode, etc. You can get all this for under $ 100!
"Some of the games expensive is better "Fallout 3" (wait for the game of the year edition with extra content coming out this year), "Resident Evil 5", "Bioshock" "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" and "despicable." Remember, this review is of someone who loves the PS3 – my launch unit of 60 GB is dead, suffering of the "Yellow Light of Death" error, after about 2.5 years of service.
I take care of my biggest electronics. I never spent consoles PS3 for days as some people seem. I dust and vacuum frequently. My PS3 sits upright, not in a narrow cabinet, and get plenty air. Apparently, the first 20 and 60 GB units were poorly constructed, with poor thermal compound between the motherboard and the heatsinks. This compound degrades over time bad, then overheating motherboard components.
Although this fault is a manufacturing problem and not the fault of the user, Sony is not going to replace a system such faulty out of warranty without charging an additional fee rather large, more local taxes.
So Caveat Emptor. The PS3 is a machine amazing and very fun to use – until it refuses to work anymore. Apparently, the only way I'd like to get free is if I had abused my console to the point it broke within 1 year instead of 2.5. Sony has nothing to do with their products and will not fix their own mistakes. "Thank you for your money effective, "they might say," but $ #% & for asking. "
The newer units may be more reliable. Maybe not. I have no way of knowing. But it might not be a bad idea to get an extended warranty. You may want to get the new Slim model, if the heating and fan noise is concerned. Lord knows I like to have one.
