Nintendo GBA and NDS

Nintendo GBA and NDS

In early 2003, Nintendo upgraded the Game Boy Advance giving it an internal front-light that can be on or off, a rechargeable Li-ion battery and a folding case approximately half the original size. It was designed to address some Common complaints with the original Game Boy Advance which was criticized for being very uncomfortable. The Game Boy Advance SP also comes with a new LCD screen much brighter for improved gameplay.

Around the same time as the release of the Game Boy Micro, Nintendo released a new backlit version of the Stability Pact in America North (also known as the "GBA SP +"). The switch controlling the light now toggles between "normal" (which in itself is already brighter than the original screen of Game Boy Advance SP), and "brilliant", a brightness level similar to a flat screen TV.

In September 2005, Nintendo released a second redesign of the Game Boy Advance. This model, known as the Game Boy micro, is similar to cutting the original Game Boy Advance's horizontal orientation, but it is much sleeker and smaller. The Game Boy Micro also allows the user the ability to switch between multiple colored casings to allow customization, a feature Nintendo announces heavily around the Game Boy micro release. Nintendo also hopes that this "fad" feature will help audiences beyond the typical Gamers, like its new Wii console. Unlike previous models, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Micro is unable to support Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles.

Nintendo competitors in the handheld market was the Neo Geo Pocket Color, Bandai Swan Crystal, Game Park 32, Tapwave Zodiac and the Nokia N Gage. Despite the best competitors efforts, Nintendo maintained its majority market share with the Game Boy Advance.

To date, Nintendo has sold 80.5 million units worldwide GBA. More half of those in the Americas and 16 million in Japan in second place.

The Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS becomes the flagship of the modern games based sprite. With superior hardware for the Super Nintendo has proven that sprite-based technology could improve and live alongside the existing 3D games consoles. The Game Boy Advance not only has a typical platform, but also a huge collection of RPGs SNES style. It also has become a popular system for old-school gamers due to the increasing amount of imported games from various 8-bit and 16-bit systems of the previous era. Through the use of flash cartridges and emulators Game Boy Advance can even play NES and TurboGrafx-16 games, as well as AGI-based adventure games from Sierra On-Line PC.

Nintendo DS and GBA owners enjoy a wide selection of Nintendo games for Sports, Action, Adventure Simulation, Strategy and Edutainment.

The best-selling game of all times is Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Released in March 2003 was sold to over 13 million copies.

Today you can find many websites selling Nintendo games online, where you can also find rare classic affordable prices and games that are unattainable in most stores.

My personal favorite, "Games – Forward" is an online store, by far the largest online selection larger of the two new releases and rare classics and originals, both Nintendo and 3rd party accessories. Prices are very reasonable and the selection of Nintendo DS, DS Lite and Game Boy Advance is enormous. You can check out: http://www.games-advance.com
